I was born in 1991. To know about the big news that happened in the year in Taiwan, I searched on the Internet and found some interesting things to share with you. There was a piece of news showed that “The Worst Train Crash In Taiwan”. The event killed a lot of people and injured 102 people in the central part of the island. It happened on November 15. When their families heard the news, they were very sad and accused all of people who were in connection with this fact.
The accident indicates one thing that every part in the train is important, including the screws and the engine. The engineers have played an important role because many people’s lives were controlled in their hands.
People should be more careful. For example, driving a car, walking on the street or when you are working. From the fact, I learned that prevention is better than cure.

Wang Hui-chen, who was 21 years old that year and she won the ROC’s first gold in an international track event during the World University Games in England. She finished at 23.42 seconds in the women’s 200 meter dash, breaking the Asian record set by the mainland’s Han Qing at the Asian Games in Beijing Oct 1990.
Sport record is really important to the athlete all around the world, especially for Wang Hui-chen, who broke the record and became the best one in the 200 meter dash. I think that she could break the record because of her confidence and a lot of exercise. An athlete’s final goal is to become the champion of the items which they are good at. However, the athlete attitude is the most important to them. They are persistence even they lost game. They also have fair play at every contest they attend in. They will compete and compete until the game ends. It’s really sportsmanship, isn’t it? And that is the answer to why the Olympia is so popular to everybody from the Rome to the contemporary age.

The director of the Taiwan Railway Administration and two other employees were held responsible. I think accidents are always terrible but always around us. All we can do is just BE CAREFUL. But things are not always going right. If the bad things or troubles come, we just have to overcome as hard as we can, and keep living our hopeful life.
Secondly, on November 13, 1991, Taipei, together with Beijing and Hong Kong took their seats as the newest members of the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Seoul. Taiwan’s situation is always embarrassed on diplomacy. So we just have to join more associations as we can to improve our friendships with other countries.
News contacts everything about our life. We need to take a look at news on T.V or newspapers everyday, or we might miss something that is very important to us, and make a lot of unnecessary troubles.
